Links to the laws that deal with regulation of telecoms in the Channel Islands are provided below
CICRA issues telecom licenses. Separate wireless telegraphy licences, will be required by telecoms operators requiring wireless frequency spectrum to operate existing or proposed services. These licences are issued by Ofcom (the UK communications authority) who manages spectrum and international coordination on behalf of the Channel Islands.
Operators and potential operators of telecommunications should nevertheless contact CICRA in the first instance in order to verify the requirements under the law. Wherever possible spectrum licensing is dealt with on a pan-Channel Island basis.
